The position papers of the ICPHR are an important forum for defining and debating the practice and principles of participatory research in health. Multi-national editorial groups write the papers which are then circulated to the entire membership for comment. The input received is incorporated into the published version. At the Annual Working Meetings ideas for new papers are generated and the papers-in-progress are
discussed. The position papers are living documents, based on the experience of the members of the ICPHR and their ongoing work to synthesize what has been learned in the context of studies conducted in various countries. They will be revised over time, reflecting the collective knowledge of the ICPHR membership
